His writing tends to lean towards dark comic fantasy with a twist of bizarre lime. Some non-book influences include 1980s cartoons, Dungeons and Dragons, action movies, Adult Swim, Mortal Kombat, South Park, Monty Python, John Carpenter, Alejandro Jodorowsky, mysticism, absurdism, and surrealism. Authorial influences include Robert E. Howard, Joe Abercrombie, Terry Pratchett, China Mieville, George R.R. Martin, H.P. Lovecraft, and Andrzej Sapkowski.
