Philip Overby's Bad Fantasy Art #5: Self-Portrait!   About Me: Philip Overby is a weird fantasy writer and creator of the world of Splatter Elf. His writing tends to lean towards dark comic fantasy with a twist of bizarre lime. Some non-book influences include 1980s cartoons, Dungeons and Dragons, action movies, Adult Swim, Mortal Kombat, South Park, Monty Python, John Carpenter, Alejandro Jodorowsky, mysticism, absurdism, and surrealism. Authorial influences include Robert E. Howard, Joe Abercrombie, Terry Pratchett, China Mieville, George R.R. Martin, H.P. Lovecraft, and Andrzej Sapkowski.

He likes monster hunters, weird magic, were-creatures, and undead unicorns. He lives in Yokohama, Japan with his wife and collection of magic stones.
